Men's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Elizabethtown Short Course Invite

LEBANON, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's cross country team registered a sixth place finish at the Elizabethtown Short Course Invitational that was held at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon on Friday night.

The Royals finished in sixth place with 146 points. Dickinson captured the team title on the evening with 35 points.

Sophomore Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) was the top finisher for Scranton with a time of 19:35.73 to finish in 22nd place. Junior Matt Kinback (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) and senior Zach Gutekunst (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) completed the 6,000 meter course in times of 19:53.26 and 19:56.40 to finish 31st and 32nd respectively. All three marked personal-best times.

Junior Jack Patwell (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) finished in 34th place with a time of 20:01.71 and freshman Daniel Finning (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) rounded out the team's top five with a 38th place finish in 20:14.01.

Scranton returns to the course on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Paul Short Invitational that will be hosted by Lehigh University.
