Junior Megan Zinn (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) of The University of Scranton softball team continued to dominate on the offensive end for the Royals last week, and for her efforts, she was named the Landmark Conference's Player of the Week for the period Apr. 28, 2019 on Monday.

For Zinn, this marks the first time in her three-year career at Scranton that she has been named Player of the Week by the Landmark.

Overall, Zinn had a huge week at the plate in leading the Royals to a 5-1 record in the final week of the 2019 regular season. Overall, she batted .650 in six games, going 13-for-20 with four doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored.

On Saturday against Elizabethtown, Zinn led the Royals charge in a pair of convincing Landmark victories on the road (10-3 and 10-4) that punched Scranton's ticket into this weekend's Landmark Conference Championships. On the afternoon, she went 6-for-8 with two doubles, four RBI and four runs scored.

With her six hits and two doubles on the day, Zinn shattered single season program records for both hits (64) and doubles (20). Batting a team-best .478, Zinn has recorded a hit in 36 of the 40 games Scranton has played in during the season, and at one point during the year was riding a 20 game hit streak. She's also scored 46 total runs and added 39 RBI for the year, as well.

Zinn and the rest of The University of Scranton softball team returns to action on Friday, as the open play in the 2019 Landmark Conference Championship as the number-four seed. In their first game, the Royals will take on host and top-seeded Moravian, with first pitch slated for 11 a.m.
