LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Scranton softball program had 10 student-athletes named 2019 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced late Wednesday.
Earning the accolade for the Royals for the 2018-19 academic year were: junior Mackenzie Duffy (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Lackawanna Trail), graduating senior Molly Hampsey (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock), junior Allie Hotchkiss (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker), sophomore Jessica Indelicato (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), junior Brianna Lehr (Byram Township, N.J./Pope John XXIII Regional), sophomore Kira Livezey (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), senior Anna Price (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional), graduate Cyan Scarduzio (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining), sophomore Erika Witt (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) and senior Megan Zinn (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan).
To earn a spot as an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar, a student-athlete must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. In all, over 8,000 student-athletes (8,161) across three NCAA Divisions, the NAIA, two-year colleges, and high schools were named scholar-athlete All-Americans for 2019.
As a team, the Royals also registered a 3.41 GPA, which put them in a tie for 59th across NCAA Division III in that category for the academic year.
