Lady Royals Slotted First in Initial NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Ranking

The NCAA released the first set of Division III Regional Rankings this afternoon, and the University of Scranton women's basketball team has been slotted first in the initial poll for the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The Lady Royals, who are a perfect 21-0 overall, 12-0 in the Landmark Conference, and ranked fourth in both the and USA Today Coaches' Polls, heads the ranking as the only unbeaten team in the region and one of only four remaining unbeatens in the Nation.

Following the Lady Royals in this week's ranking are Albright (20-2) in second, followed by Muhlenberg (17-2) in third, and Marymount in fourth (18-3). Landmark Conference rival Moravian (16-5) comes in at fifth, while Christopher Newport (19-2) rounds out the top six.

Scranton, who is off to the second best start in program history at 21-0, returns to action this evening as they host Susquehanna at home in Landmark Conference play. Tip-off inside the John Long Center is set for 7 p.m.
