Lady Royals Stay in First in NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings

The second set of NCAA Division III Regional Rankings were released today and the University of Scranton women's basketball team remains in first place in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The Lady Royals, who are a perfect 23-0 overall, 14-0 in the Landmark Conference, and ranked fourth in both the D3Hoops.com and USA Today Coaches' Polls, continues to head the ranking as the lone unbeaten team in the region and one of only four remaining unbeatens in the nation.

Behind the Lady Royals in the Regional Rankings is still Albright, who sits at 22-2 for the year, followed by Muhlenberg, who is 20-2 overall and was third last week. Christopher Newport (21-2) was a big mover in this week's rankings, climbing to fourth, while Mary Washington (19-4) and Marymount (19-4) are fifth and sixth, respectively.

The only other Landmark Conference team in the Mid-Atlantic Rankings is Moravian (17-6) who is seventh overall. McDaniel (19-4) rounds out the poll in eighth place.

The final public regional rankings will be released on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The final rankings on Sunday, Feb. 28, are made available only to the NCAA Tournament selection committee.

Scranton, who is off to the second best start in program history at 23-0, hit the road tonight in Landmark Conference play, traveling to Merchant Marine. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
