Sophomore guard Bridgette Mann (Canadensis, Pa./Wallenpaupack) of the University of Scranton women's basketball team collected another honor on Tuesday afternoon, as she was named the National Jesuit Women's Basketball Player of the Week by Jesuit Basketball Spotlight.
This past week, Mann was instrumental in Scranton collecting a pair of Landmark Conference victories against Susquehanna (66-53) and at Goucher (76-43), as the Lady Royals pushed their unbeaten record on the year to 15-0 overall and 4-0 in the Landmark.
Mann began her week on Wednesday with a banner performance in the come-from-behind win over Susquehanna, as she poured in a game-high 25 points (matching a career-high), nailing five three-pointers in a victory where Scranton outscored Susquehanna 35-19 in the second half to win their 24th straight game inside the John Long Center.
On Saturday at Goucher, Mann added 12 more points in a dominating win on the road in which Scranton never trailed. For Mann, it marked the 12th time she had scored in double-figures in a game on the 2016-17 season.
For the year, Mann is averaging 15.3 points per game, the second highest mark on the team. She also leads the team in assists with 60, which is also the third highest mark for the season in the Landmark Conference, as well.
Mann and the rest of the Lady Royals, who are ranked third in the latest D3Hoops.com Top 25 Poll and fifth in the WBCA Coaches' Top 25 Rankings, take on Moravian this evening in a big Landmark Conference match-up on the road. Tip-off in Bethlehem is slated for 7 p.m.
