Junior Bridgette Mann (Canadensis, Pa./Wallenpaupack) enjoyed a strong week and reached a career milestone to lead The University of Scranton to a pair of victories over two of the Lady Royals' toughest conference opponents last week. For her efforts, she has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Mann averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game to lead Scranton to victories over Moravian and Catholic as the Lady Royals stretched their winning streak to 11 games while improving to 16-1 (5-1 Landmark) on the season.
In a 98-94 victory over Moravian in the Long Center on Wednesday night, Mann netted a career-high 30 points, including the 1,000th point of her career, while also dishing out a game-high seven assists, to power Scranton to the victory. Mann became the 29th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone on a jumper with just over six and a half minutes remaining in regulation of the contest.
Mann followed Wednesday's career-night with 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists on Saturday to help the Lady Royals to a 62-50 win at Catholic.
Mann is averaging a team-leading 15.6 points per game this season while shooting 42.4 percent from the field including a 44.2 percent clip from three-point range. She has also been solid at the line, knocking down 85.7 percent of her free throws including a 13-14 showing at the stripe over Scranton's last two contests.
Mann, who was also selected as the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week on December 18, has now captured weekly honors from the conference three times in her career.
Mann and the Lady Royals return to action on Wednesday night with a Landmark Conference matchup at Drew University starting at 7:00 p.m. in Madison, New Jersey.
