Makenzie Mason and the Lady Royals will take on Moravian in the Landmark Conference semifinals on Wednesday night in the Long Center.

The University of Scranton women's basketball team will begin its quest for a third straight Landmark Conference title on Wednesday evening when it hosts Moravian in a semifinal matchup starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Long Center.

Admission is free for all students, faculty and staff with University ID. Admission for all others is $5 for adults (ages 18-61), $3 for seniors (ages 62 and older) and $3 for students (ages 11-17) while children 10 and younger are admitted free of charge.  Anyone with an ID from a Landmark Conference institution will also be admitted free of charge.

Scranton is seeking its sixth Landmark Conference championship and 24th conference title in program history.  The Lady Royals have claimed three of the last four Landmark Conference crowns and are looking for a three-peat for the first time since the squad won six straight conference championships from 2004-2009.

Scranton, currently ranked 11th in the country in the latest Top 25 poll, are the top seed in this season's Landmark Conference playoffs after posting a 24-1 overall record while going 13-1 in league play.  The Lady Royals will put a 19-game win streak on the line against Moravian, who is the #4 seed. The Greyhounds went 17-8 (7-7 Landmark) during the regular season and won four of their last five regular season contests to qualify for the postseason tournament on a tiebreaker over Catholic.

Wednesday night's game – which is a rematch of last year's Landmark Conference semifinal meeting won by Scranton, 71-60 – could very well come down to the wire as both of this year's regular season contests went to overtime.  The Lady Royals won a high-scoring thriller in Scranton on January 17, 98-94, before needing another 45 minutes of action to post a 75-70 victory in Bethlehem on January 31.

Three of the last six meetings between the Lady Royals and Greyhounds have gone to overtime with Scranton winning all three of those contests.  Scranton has won the last three games between the two sides after Moravian topped the Lady Royals 87-83 in the Long Center on January 27, 2017.

Wednesday's playoff game will be the 42nd meeting between the Scranton and Moravian in a series that dates back to the 1986-87 season.  The Lady Royals hold a 30-11 advantage in the series which included several Middle Atlantic Conference playoff battles before the programs joined the Landmark Conference in 2007.

In Wednesday evening's other semifinal second-seeded Juniata hosts third-seeded Elizabethtown.  The matchup between the Eagles and Blue Jays will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. in Huntingdon, Pa.

The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday for the Landmark Conference championship on the campus of the highest remaining seed at a time that is yet to be determined.  The winner of Saturday's title game will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
