SCRANTON, Pa. – Coming off a Final Four appearance a season ago, The University of Scranton women's basketball team will host the 3rd annual Lady Royals Tip-Off Dinner on Saturday, October 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rose Room on the 5th floor of Brennan Hall.
The dinner reception will include the introduction of the 2019-20 Scranton Lady Royals and the presentation of the 2019 Mike Strong Award to former men's and women's basketball assistant coach Canio Cianci.
Cianci, a 1968 graduate of The University of Scranton, spent 10 plus seasons as an assistant with the men's and women's programs and helped lead both teams to multiple conference championships as well as Final Four appearances. He also served as a women's basketball assistant at Marywood University and a head coach at both Dunmore High School and Scranton Prep.
The Tip-Off Dinner is open to all Scranton women's basketball alumnae, parents, family, and friends. The cost per ticket is $75 for adults and $20 for children between 5-12 years of age; children under 5 can attend for free.

All tickets include hors d'oeuvres and a dinner buffet. Adult tickets also include an open bar and a charitable contribution to the Women's Basketball program.
