The University of Scranton women's basketball team has won 10 straight and is ranked No. 2 in the latest NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Rankings that were unveiled on Wednesday afternoon.

The regional rankings are traditionally an important indicator in a team's chances of securing an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, should it fail to secure an automatic bid. The NCAA releases public regional rankings on the final two weeks of the regular season. The final rankings, which are given to the tournament selection committee, are not made public.

Scranton who is 22-3 overall (12-2 Landmark) trails just Messiah (21-4) in the rankings for the second consecutive week, while Widener (21-4) and Christopher Newport (21-4) round out the top four. The remainder of the rankings is comprised of Gettysburg (21-4), Albright (21-4), Mary Washington (17-8) and Catholic (20-5).
