SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Freshman Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and junior Julie Cranney (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) led the way as The University of Scranton women's golf team finished fourth at the Susquehanna Spring Invitational, the team's first event of the spring season.
The Royals finished with a total of 434 on the par-70, 5,803-yard layout at Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Gettysburg won the team title with 317 as took the top four spots on the individual leaderboard.
Stein carded a 106 to lead the Royals in the first tournament play in the program's history after the team began competition this past fall. Cranney was two shots back at 108. Freshmen Kristen Davis (Abington Township, Pa./Scranton Prep) and Maura McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) both shot 110, and junior Katie Allen (New Milford, Conn./Immaculate H.S.) finished with 118.
The Royals will be back in action on Sunday, April 9, when they face Misericordia in a match at Irem Temple Country Club in Dallas, Pa.
