KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team had its highest scoring output of the season en route to a 20-5 victory in a Landmark Conference game at Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday afternoon.

The Royals' 20 goals were two more than their previous high in an 18-5 win at Marywood on March 29. The offensive onslaught featured six players with at least two goals, led by junior midfielder Meghan Kerr (Warwick, N.Y./John S. Burke Catholic), who finished with five goals and one assist. She now has 97 goals and 47 assists for 144 career points, and is now 10th in Royals' history in career assists and 12th in both goals and points.

Freshman attacker Katie Rogers (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's) finished with four goals while senior midfielder Erin Allen (Syosset, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) had three goals and one assist, which included the 100th point of her career.

Scranton (7-5, 2-1 Landmark) also got two goals and an assist each from senior midfielder Fiona Keelan (New Rochelle, N.Y./Mamaroneck), sophomore attacker Colleen O'Rourke (Floral Park, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) and sophomore midfielder Kailyn Angelo (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy).

Sophomore midfielder Dana Siepietowski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) had a goal and an assist, and freshman midfielder Christine Olert (Katonah, N.Y./Somers) added a goal. Junior attacker Alexandra Alessi (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown Area) also had three assists in the victory.

The Royals held a 41-12 advantage in shots over Merchant Marine Academy (4-4, 0-4 Landmark), and forced 27 turnovers while committing 16. Scranton was also successful on 11 of 12 clears while holding the Mariners to just 11 of 26.

Allen, Keelan and Angelo tied for the team lead with four draw controls while Siepietowski had three. Keelan, Angelo and Olert each had three ground balls, and Rogers led the team with two caused turnovers.

Scranton will be back in action on Wednesday, April 20, when the Royals host Drew in a Landmark Conference game at 4 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field.
