For the second consecutive season, University of Scranton women's lacrosse senior Meghan Kerr (Warwick, N.Y./John S. Burke Catholic) was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-Boardwalk Region First Team, as freshman teammate Becca Russo (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) was named to the All-Boardwalk Region Second Team on Friday.
The pair led the Royals on the 2017 season, as Scranton finished with an 11-6 overall record and advanced to the Landmark Conference championship game for the second straight season.
Kerr, who was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year earlier this month, finishes her career scoring 160 career goals, which is the fourth highest mark in program history.
An All-Landmark Conference First Team selection in 2017, Kerr led the Royals offensively, tallying 47 goals and 22 assists for 69 total points. Kerr finished the season fourth in the Landmark Conference in total points, and fifth in goals scored, as well.
Russo, meanwhile, finishes off her impressive first season in the program with today's Second Team selection to the IWLCA All-Region team.
An All-Landmark Conference First Team pick in defense, collected a team-best 51 ground balls for the season, while also recording 36 draw controls. Russo, who has started in all 17 games in her first year in the program, also notched two assists on the offensive end, as well.
