Erin Putnam (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) turned in a solid outing in net on Saturday afternoon to lead the University of Scranton women's lacrosse team to a win in its season opener at Farmingdale State. For her performance, she has been honored as the Landmark Conference's Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Putnam made five saves on eight shots directed her way in the first 53 and a half minutes against the Rams to pick up the win. The sophomore goalkeeper finished the contest with a 62.5 save percentage and a 3.36 goals-again average.
For her career, Putnam sports and 11-6 record in 18 appearances with a 10.59 goals against average and a .456 save percentage. She has 123 saves in nearly 833 minutes of action for Scranton.
Putnam and the Royals will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Misericordia for a non-conference contest starting at 4:00 p.m.
