DEMOREST, Ga. – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team snapped a three-game losing skid with a dominant performance on Wednesday, defeating Piedmont 17-3 to close out its Spring Break trip.  The Royals, who led 13-0 at halftime, improve to 17-3 on the season with the win while the Lions fall to 7-3.

Scranton had 14 different players record at least one point in the victory including 10 with multi-point performances.

Katie Rogers (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's), Jill Henson (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy), Elena Gallo (East Meadow, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial), Bridget Lalley (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge), Raegen Dunn (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township), and Erin Ahern (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) each scored two goals for the Royals.

Scranton raced out to an 11-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes of play and added two more goals before halftime to hold a commanding 13-goal cushion at the intermission.

The Royals netted the first two goals of the second stanza before Piedmont got on the board with 20:01 left in regulation.  Scranton countered with the next two goals before the Lions capped the scoring with a pair of markers in the final eight and a half minutes.

Morgan Windisch (Williston Park, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) recorded a goal and an assist in the win, Mary Kate Horton (Glen Rock, N.J./Glen Rock) dished out a game-high three assists, and Kate Calabro (Seaford, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) added two helpers on the day.

Kailyn Angelo (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy), Kaitlyn Murphy (Somers, N.Y./North Salem), Kiera Carmody (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), and Bridget Doyle (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) also had goals for the Royals, who outshot Piedmont 33-8 and had a 23-14 edge in ground balls.

Scranton also claimed 17 of the game's 21 draw controls led by seven from Angelo.  Carmody tied for a game-high with four ground balls while Dana Siepietowski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) notched a game-high three caused turnovers.

Erin Putnam (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) made three saves in the first half to pick up the win in goal for the Royals.  Lauren Devlin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) added a pair of stops in 21:39 while Amanda Trumpore (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) closed out the contest without making a save.

Scranton will play the final game of its season-opening seven game road swing at nearby Marywood next Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m.
