Putnam Lands Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week Honors For Women’s Lacrosse

Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Putnam (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) had a standout week between the pipes for The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team. As a result, she has been named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for women's lacrosse.

Putnam finished with 28 saves with a .560 save percentage in two games last week. She began the week with a career-high 17 saves in a narrow 13-11 loss to #23 Rowan in a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 3 at Fitzpatrick Field. She also had four ground balls in the contest.

On Saturday, Putnam made 11 saves as Scranton (6-5, 2-1 Landmark) rolled to an 18-9 win in a Landmark Conference game at Moravian. She made eight second half saves as the Royals held the Greyhounds to three second-half goals to pull away.

For the season, Putnam has made 89 saves and has a save percentage of .478.

The women's lacrosse team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 11, when the Royals go on the road for a non-conference game at Oneonta at 4 p.m.
