The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team remains ranked in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll this week, as the Royals check-in at number 22 in the latest rankings.

Scranton, who is ranked in the poll for the third straight week, fell in their lone game of the week on Sunday to 19th-ranked Ithaca, 12-10. The hard fought loss was the first of the year for the Royals, as the team has gotten off to a great start.

With a win over No. 20 Haverford already under their belt (13-12 on Mar. 2), the Royals have been led on the offensive end by sophomore Jill Henson (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and senior Elena Gallo (East Meadow, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial), who have scored 13 goals, apiece, in the first five games of the year. Henson leads the team in total offense, as she's recorded four assists on the year for a 17-point total to date.

On defense, junior Becca Russo (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) has a team leading 15 caused turnovers and 18 ground balls. Many of Scranton's scoring possessions have been kickstarted by junior Kate Calabro (Seaford, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial), who has 23 draw controls for the year, including a season-best nine in the defeat against Ithaca Sunday.

The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Christopher Newport for a non-conference road game. Action starts at 2 p.m.
