Senior Becca Russo (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) of The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team was named an Inside Lacrosse/Maverik Division III Media All-American as announced by the organization on Friday morning. Russo garnered a second team selection for her outstanding play in the truncated 2020 season.

Inside Lacrosse felt that it was important to honor the players despite the truncated nature of the season. The All-American teams consisted of three teams as well as an Honorable mention squad.

This marks the second straight year that Russo has received All-American honors after being named an IWLCA Second Team All-American in 2019.

Russo started all six games on defense for the Royals this season and tallied 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. The South Windsor, Conn., native also recorded 25 draw controls.

Should Russo elect to end her career after graduating from Scranton with a degree in nursing in May, she will finish her career as one of the most decorated players in program history.

Russo currently ranks third in program history in caused turnovers (97), third in draw controls (185) and fifth in ground balls (191). She also tallied one goal and five assists in her career.

The defender is a member of a senior class that has led Scranton to 41 victories over the last three-plus seasons and three consecutive Landmark Conference title game appearances. Additionally, the Royals finished the 2019 season with a program-best 16-3 record and finished the season ranked in the Top 25 (No. 20) for the first time in program history.
