Senior goalkeeper Colleen Berry (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) and sophomore forward Corinne McDonald (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) were key performers as The University of Scranton women's soccer team remained unbeaten last week. As a result, the duo swept the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honors for women's soccer.

Berry was named Defensive Athlete of the Week after she totaled 11 saves as the Royals went 1-0-1 to improve to 13-0-2 on the season. She had seven saves, one shy of matching her season high, in a 1-1 double overtime draw at Haverford on Wednesday, Oct. 17. She had four saves in regulation, then made two in the first overtime period and one in the second.

Three days later, Berry made four saves as the Royals secured the top seed in the Landmark Conference playoffs with a 1-0 win at Susquehanna. She made two saves in each half to secure her seventh shutout of the season and 20th of her career. She has not allowed a goal in six Landmark Conference matches this season spanning more than 516 minutes.

Berry has now won Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honors in each of the past two weeks and four times total in her career.

McDonald scored the match-winning goal in that 1-0 win at Susquehanna, which improved the Royals to 6-0 in conference play. Her goal in the 80th minute was her fourth of the season and eighth of her career, and it served to extend the Royals' winning streak against Landmark Conference opponents to 24 straight, including playoffs.

This is the first time McDonald has received a Landmark Conference weekly honor.

Berry, McDonald and the women's soccer team will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 23, when the Royals host Penn State-Berks in a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. at Weiss Field.
