Sophomore Grace Elliott (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) had a goal and an assist in the women's soccer team's key Landmark Conference road win at Drew on Tuesday night, and for her efforts, she was named The University of Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Oct. 27, 2019 on Monday.
For Elliott, this marks the second time in her career that she has been named Scranton Athlete of the Week, last earning the award on Nov. 12, 2018.
On Tuesday in a driving rainstorm at Drew, Elliott scored in the first half, then added an assist in the second half in an eventual 3-0 victory for the Royals on the road. The goal was the third of the season for Elliott, all of which have been game-winners for the Royals. With three goals and two assists for the year, Elliott is also second on the team in total points for the year with eight, as well.
Elliott and the rest of The University of Scranton women's soccer team (who sits at 7-5-3 overall and 4-2 in the Landmark Conference) conclude their regular season home slate on Wednesday, as they take on Misericordia at Weiss Field beginning at 7 p.m.
