On Saturday, the Royals will face a stern test in Centre, as the Colonels are the only undefeated, untied team in all of NCAA Division III and ranked 10th by the United Soccer Coaches nationally. Centre earned an automatic bid into the field after winning their eighth straight Southern Athletic Association (SAA) championship this past weekend, as they knocked off Rhodes (Tenn.) in the SAA title match Sunday, 2-0.
Scranton, meanwhile, earned a bid into the field after making a run in the Landmark Conference tournament, upsetting both Elizabethtown (3-2) and Susquehanna (3-0) on the road to capture their seventh Landmark title in program history and their third in the last four seasons.
More information on the Royals' trip to western Ohio for the 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament will be posted later in the week at athletics.scranton.edu
