ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's swimming team returned from a layoff of more than a month and showed no signs of rust, winning all 14 events en route to a 230.5-47.5 win at Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon.

Ten different Royals won individual events as the team finished 1-2 in 11 different events in its first meet since Dec. 2. Junior Susannah Ilseman (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) was was one of two swimmers to win two individual events, taking the 50 freestyle in :29.26 and the 500 freestyle in 5:54.35. Freshman Lauren Byrne (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) also won twice, capturing the 200 freestyle in 2:02.75 and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.81.

The duo also each swam on a winning relay team, as Ilseman teamed with her twin sister, junior Emma Ilseman (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central), junior Lucy Fulton (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) and sophomore Elizabeth Howlin (Hauppauge, N.Y./Smithtown West) to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:45.46.

Byrne joined junior Susan Neggia (Fair Lawn, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy), Howlin and Emma Ilseman to win the 200 medley relay in 1:56.54.

Senior Maeve Potter (Rye, N.Y./School of the Holy Child) won the 200 backstroke in 2:21.77 and added second-place finishes in the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.

Neggia was also victorious in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.65 while Howlin captured the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.84. And Emma Ilseman took home first place in the 100 freestyle in :57.24.

Scranton (7-0) also received first-place finishes from junior Kaylee Walsh (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) in the 1000 freestyle (12:35.29), junior Margaret Reynolds (Centerport, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) in the 200 butterfly (2:31.32), sophomore Jenna Harper (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) in the 200 breaststroke (2:37.43) and junior Claire Mason (Livingston, N.J./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) in the 400 individual medley (4:59.19).

Potter, Harper, Fulton and sophomore Hailey Kenyon (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central) combined to finish second in the 200 medley relay. The 200 freestyle relay team of senior Erica Westlake (West Chester, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame), freshman Marycate O'Sullivan (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet), sophomore Anne Gormley (Havertown, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy) and Kenyon was also second.

The Royals also received second-place finishes from senior Kelly Lappin (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) in the 1000 freestyle, Fulton in the 100 backstroke, sophomore Grace Cieri (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) in the 50 freestyle, sophomore Riva Kelly (Bogota, N.J./Teaneck) in the 100 freestyle, Kenyon in the 200 backstroke, sophomore Laura Iobst (Maywood, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) and freshman Cara Webster (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) in the 400 individual medley.

The University of Scranton women's swimming & diving team will be in action twice next week. On Friday, the Royals will travel across town to take on Marywood at 5 p.m. On Saturday, they will visit Madison, N.J. to take on Drew at 1 p.m.
