Women's Swimming Falls to Dickinson in Dual Meet Action

SCRANTON, Pa. – Juniors Lauren Byrne (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and Audrey Campo (Clarks Summit, Pa./Scranton Prep) both won individual events for The University of Scranton women's swimming and diving team (5-1), but the Royals dropped a 119-86 dual meet to the Dickinson Red Devils (4-1) on Saturday afternoon at the Byron Center in Scranton.

Byrne won the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.33, more than seven seconds faster than the second place finisher. Campo captured the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:07.46 and freshman Danielle Pikulik (Smithtown, N.Y./St. Anthony's) finished right on Campo's heels in second place with a time of 1:08.50. Scranton captured the 200 free relay in a time of 1:43.39 with a quartet of senior Grace Cieri (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford), freshman Lauren McGuire (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River), freshman Erin Chlebove (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) and senior Elizabeth Howlin (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West).

The relay quartet of Byrne, Pikulik, Campo and sophomore Amber Diehl (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt) finished second in the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:51.62. Other second place finishers on the afternoon for the Royals were senior Hailey Kenyon (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central) in the 1000 freestyle (11:47.47), junior Marycate O'Sullivan (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet) in the 100 butterfly (1:02.89), Campo in the 100 freestyle (56.93) and Byrne in the 100 backstroke (59.80).

Scranton returns to the pool with a dual meet versus Misericordia on Saturday, Nov. 16 in the Byron Center at 1 p.m.
