Crilly Repeats As First-Team All-Landmark Selection

Julia Crilly (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) has certainly left her mark on The University of Scranton volleyball program.

Today, she was named first-team All-Landmark Conference for the second straight season after leading the Royals of second-year head coach Jamie Spangler to a 23-11 overall record and a semifinal berth in the conference’s postseason tournament.

Crilly, a four-time all-conference selection after earning second-team honors in 2011and 2012 and the league’s rookie of the year in 2011, led the Landmark in kills (435), kills per set (3.6), points (506) and points per set (4.2).  She has also excelled in the classroom, landing a spot recently on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District team, which honors those student-athletes who are at least a sophomore, have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, and are either a starter or key reserve.  She is currently in consideration for Academic All-America honors by the national organization.

Crilly is also ranked among the all-time leaders in Scranton history in several statistical categories.  She is the Royals’ leader in attack attempts (4647), is second in kills (1648), third in digs (1572), fifth in service aces (195), 15th in block assists (113), 17th in total blocks (154), 18th in hitting percentage (.202), 20th in block solos (41), and 25th in assists (73).  She further distinguished herself by becoming the only player in Scranton history with at least 1500 kills and 1500 digs in a career.
