University of Scranton volleyball senior Rachael Cisto (Oxford, Conn./Sacred Heart Academy) was honored for her work in the classroom on Thursday, as she was named to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team.
Cisto, who earns a spot on the Academic All-District Team for the first time in her career, was named to the First Team in District Four of NCAA Division III, which is comprised of schools at the level across Pennsylvania.
Cisto, a middle hitter, ended her final season at Scranton this week by making 198 kills on the year, along with 102 total blocks up front (25 of which were solos). For her career, Cisto ranks sixth all-time in Scranton program history in three categories: total blocks with 311, block-assists with 199 and solo blocks with 112.
In the classroom, Cisto has recorded a 3.76 grade point average as an occupational therapy major at the University. She has previously been named to the Landmark Conference's Academic Honor Roll the last two seasons, as well.
