Ashley Zalewski completed her third season as an assistant coach for the University of Scranton volleyball program in 2018. 

During her three years with the Royals, Scranton has compiled a 76-38 (.667) overall record while making appearances in the Landmark Conference playoffs in all three seasons.  Highlighting Zalewski's time at Scranton is a 35-5 record and Landmark Conference runner-up finish in 2017.

Zalewski, a native of nearby Factoryville, Pa., joins the Royals program off a one-year stint as an assistant coach at her alma mater Marywood University, serving in that role for the last year.

Zalewski entered the coaching ranks after a banner four-year career as a member of the volleyball team at Marywood, where she earned All-CSAC honors three times (second team in 2012 and first team in both 2013 and 2014).

In her senior season of 2014 (when she also served as team captain), she set the program record for attack percentage in a campaign (.353) and ranked 15th in the country in hitting percentage at the end of the year (.364).

Zalewski prepped at Tunkhannock High School, where she earned All-State honors in 2010 and was a selection to the Wyoming Valley Conference First Team All-Star squad back-to-back years (2009 and 2010). The offensive player of the year in 2009 and MVP of the team in 2010, she also served as Tunkhannock's team captain in her senior season of 2010.

Zalewski, who is also the boys assistant volleyball coach at Abington Heights High School, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Marywood in May of 2015 with a concentration in Interior Architecture/Design.
