Sophomore Rachel Kerr (Archbald, Pa./Scranton Prep) has been a constant for The University of Scranton women's cross country team all season, leading the Royals in every race. On Saturday, she finished seventh at the Landmark Conference Championships, again leading the team.

As a result of her performance on Saturday, Kerr has been named The University of Scranton Athlete of the Week.

The seventh-place finish was Kerr's third top-10 finish of the season. She completed the 6,000 meter course in 23:32.06, a career best for that distance by 28 seconds.

With her effort on Saturday, Kerr is just the second Scranton runner in the past five years to earn a top-10 finish at the Landmark Conference Championships.

The women's cross country team will now prepare for the NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 10, at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa.
