SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The University of Scranton women's basketball team completed a successful two-game trip by defeating Babson, 75-59, on Monday at Coliseo Guillermo Angulo at the University of Puerto Rico Bayamon.

Senior forward Meredith Mesaris (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) led Scranton with a game-high 22 points, junior guard Noelle Alicea (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) had 19 points and senior guard Lia DiSciascio (Broomall, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) added 11.

The victory came 24 hours after the sixth-ranked Lady Royals (10-1) won their showdown with fourth-ranked Tufts, 52-42.

Scranton returns to the mainland later this week to prepare for an eight-day stretch that includes for Landmark Conference games. That run begins on Saturday, Jan. 3, when the Lady Royals visit Elizabethtown at 2 p.m.
