Editor's Note: The now-defunct Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) offered national championships for women prior to the NCAA's decision to do so in 1982. Scranton's women's basketball program qualified for the AIAW tournament in 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1981, advancing to the semifinals and finishing third in 1980.  The Royal softball team also qualified for the AIAW national tournament in 1980 and 1981.
