BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's track & field team competed in the Coach P Invitational at Moravian on Friday and Saturday, facing competition from all three NCAA divisions.
Scranton's top performer on the weekend was sophomore Caroline Banas (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer), who finished fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.60 meters (5 feet, 3 inches).
Freshman Abigail Guziewicz (Peckville, Pa./Holy Cross) gave the Royals a second top-10 finish by placing eighth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:58.73.
Freshman Abigail Corrigan (Carbondale, Pa./Holy Cross) finished 12th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:03.07, the best time in the 1,500-meter run by a Royal this season.
Sophomore Nora Boussatta (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) was 17th in the 800-meter run in 2:29.33 to round out Scranton's top-20 finishers. It was the Royals' best outdoor time of the season in the 800 and less than a second of Boussatta's time in the Landmark Conference Indoor Championships.
The women's track & field team will be back in action on Saturday, April 21, when the Royals compete in the All-American Meet at East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
