EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Sophomores Maxwell Greene (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) and Eric Bartlett (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) both had seventh-place finishes to lead The University of Scranton men's track & field team on Saturday at the All-American Meet at East Stroudsburg University.
Greene was seventh among 16 runners in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:27.70. Bartlett had his seventh-place finish among 19 runners in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:04.20.
Other notable Scranton finishes were:
- Sophomore Zachary Gutekunst (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) was one spot behind Greene in eighth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:30.29.
- Junior Matt Barrett (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) finished 10th among 31 runners in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:14.86.
- Junior Mark Merli (Peckville, Pa./Valley View) placed 10th among 19 competitors in the triple jump with a leap of 12.42 meters (40 feet, 9 inches).
- Junior Stephen Grunbok (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) finished 16th among 36 runners in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.02 seconds.
The men's track & field team will take part in its final regular season outdoor meet on Saturday, April 28, when the Royals compete in the Monarch Open at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
