TOWSON, Md. – The University of Scranton women's track & field team got off to a strong start on Saturday on the opening day of the Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Goucher.
Junior Hannah Tracy (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) had a huge day for the Royals in throwing events, placing third in the discus with a toss of 34.22 and was fifth in the javelin with a heave of 33.96 meters.
Sophomore Abigail Corrigan (Carbondale, Pa./Holy Cross) finished seventh in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:56.98.
Junior Chrissy Noonan (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) qualified for the Sunday's final of the 100 meter hurdles, clocking a personal record time of 16.75 to place fourth in the preliminary round.
Freshman Ally Maniscalco (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) earned a sixth place finish in the pole vault competition by clearing the bar at 2.29 meters.
Freshman Meghan McGonigle (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) made the finals in the long jump and set a personal record with a mark of 4.86 meters to finish ninth in the event.
Scranton will wrap up the Landmark Conference Championships tomorrow at Goucher with the action scheduled to resume at 9 a.m.
