COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Freshman Trevor Klosinski (Madison, N.J./Madison) set a program record in the 60 meter hurdles and The University of Scranton men's track and field team finished eighth in the Collegeville Classic that was hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday.
The Royals finished eighth in the team standings with 29 points. Host Ursinus was the highest finisher among Division III schools with 53 points.
Here are some of the highlights from Saturday's action:
- Junior Matt Kinback (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) finished second in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:00.03.
- Sophomore Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) took fourth place in the 3,000 meter run in a time of 9:06.28.
- Freshman Daniel Finning (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) finished fourth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 17:14.24.
- Junior Zachary Mead (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) finished seventh in the mile in a time of 4:39.86.
- Klosinki finished 10th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.35 seconds, which surpasses the previous program record of 9.40 seconds that had been set by Dylan Weybrecht on Dec. 1, 2017.
The University of Scranton men's track and field team will compete at the SU Challenge hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 9:30 a.m.
