SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Freshman Trevor Klosinski (Madison, N.J./Madison) set a program record as the University of Scranton men's track & field team competed at the SU Challenge hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday.
Here are a few of the highlights from Saturday's action.
- Klosinski broke his own record in the 60 meter hurdle prelims with a time of 9.34, which just eclipses his time of 9.35 that had been set at last week's Collegeville Classic. He finished sixth in the event.
- The Madison, N.J., native also finished eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 54.27, which is the second fastest time in program history.
- Sophomore Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) broke a program record of his own as he captured the one mile run in a time of 4:28.14. The previous program record in the mile was 4:29.11 by Zachary Mead (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) on Feb. 24, 2018.
- McKeon also finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.93, just behind Frostburg State's Jacob Richards who won the event in 2:01.69.
- Freshman Liam Mead (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) finished third in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:12.63.
- Senior Mark Merli (Peckville, Pa./Valley View) took third in the long jump with a mark of 6.25m.
The Royals return to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Blue & Orange Invitational and Multi hosted by Utica College.
