UTICA, N.Y. – The University of Scranton men's track and field team broke three program records at the Blue & Orange Invitational and Multi that was hosted by Utica College on Saturday.
Here are some of the highlights from Saturday's action.
- Junior Matt Kinback (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) won the one mile run with a program record time of 4:28.09, which just eclipses the 4:28.14 that sophomore Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) ran at the SU Challenge last week. Kinback's time is the fourth-fastest in the Landmark Conference this season.
- McKeon captured the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:51.65, which breaks the previous program-best mark of 9:01.91 that had been set by Maxwell Greene on Feb. 23, 2019. The 8:51.65 is the second-fastest time in the Landmark this season.
- Freshman Daniel Finning (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) finished second in the 5,000 meters with a program-best time of 16:00.72, breaking his own record of 16:25.56 that had been set at the SU Challenge a week ago. Junior Jack Patwell (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) finished fifth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:35.07.
The Royals return to action at the SU Invitational that will be hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday, Feb. 15 beginning at 9:30 a.m.
