ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Five members of The University of Scranton men's and women's track and field teams competed in the AARTFC Regional Championships that were hosted by Nazareth College in Rochester over the weekend.
Here are some of the highlights from this weekend's action.
- Sophomore Jessica Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) finished eighth in the 3,000 meter run with a program-record time of 10:29.53.
- Sophomore Meghan McGonigle (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) who won the Landmark Conference indoor championship in the high jump finished tied for 15th with a mark of 1.50m.
- Junior Matt Kinback (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) took ninth in the mile in a time of 4:23.82.
- Sophomore Phil Cocco (Hughestown, Pa./Pittston Area) broke his own program record and took 15th in the high jump with a mark of 13.95m.
- Senior Mark Merli (Peckville, Pa./Valley View) finished 14th in the long jump with a mark of 6.50m and placed 21st in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.30 seconds.
The Royals begin the outdoor season on Saturday, March 28 at the Jim Taylor Invite that will be hosted by Susquehanna University.
