HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's track and field team recorded a trio of second place finishes at the Juniata Invitational on Saturday at Knox Stadium in Huntingdon.
Here are some of the highlights from Saturday's action for the Royals.
- Junior Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) placed second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:05.71 and sophomore Liam Mead (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) took third in 16:07.32.
- Freshman Timothy Lanahan (Mendham, N.J./Mendham) finished second in the 800 meters in a time of 2:07.72 and junior Phil Cocco (Hughestown, Pa./Pittston Area) took second in the shot put with a mark of 13.69m.
- Freshman Marcus Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xavier) finished third in the 100 meters in a time of 11.72 seconds and sophomore Nathan Bowen (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) placed fourth in 11.82 seconds.
- The quartet of freshman Christian Di Troia (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury), Bowen, freshman Anthony Baez (Hartsdale, N.Y./Fordham Prep) and Jenkins finished the 4x100 relay in 44.87 seconds.
The Royals return to the track at the Blue Jay Tune Up Meet that will be hosted by Elizabethtown on Saturday, May 1.
