SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Juniors Dan Gavin (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) and Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) led the way on Saturday as The University of Scranton men's track & field team returned to the track for the first time in more than a year at the SU Easter Meet hosted by Susquehanna University.
Here are some of the highlights from Saturday's action.
- Gavin captured the 5,000 meters in a time of 17:40.20, while McKeon won the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:20.41.
- Freshman Aidan Corrigan (Mansfield, Mass./Bishop Feehan) finished third in the 400 meter dash in a time of 54.10 seconds, while freshman Timothy Lanahan (Mendham, N.J./Mendham) finished third in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:14.79 and sophomore Stephen Haggerty (South Abington Township, Pa./Abington Heights) finished fourth in 4:16.49.
- Junior Varghese Pattara (South Abington Township, Pa./Scranton Prep) took second place in the long jump with a mark of 5.66m and freshman Angelo Catapano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 9.88m.
The University of Scranton men's track and field team will be back in action on Saturday, April 10 at the Greyhound Invitational hosted by Moravian College beginning at 10 a.m.
