ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Freshman Timothy Lanahan (Mendham, N.J./Mendham) finished second in the 1500 meters to lead the efforts for The University of Scranton men's track and field team at the Blue Jay Tune Up Meet hosted by Elizabethtown College on Saturday.
Here are some of the highlights from Saturday's action as the Royals finished fourth in the team standings.
- Lanahan took second in the 1500 with a time of 4:15.74, less than a second behind ETown's Marc Rumson who won the event in 4:14.78.
- Sophomore Nate Bowen (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 56.05 seconds and freshman Aidan Corrigan (Mansfield, Mass./Bishop Feehan) took fourth in the 100 in 11.86 seconds.
- The Royals' 4x400 relay team finished second with a time of 3:38.74.
- Freshman Angelo Catapano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) finished fifth in both the hammer throw (33.52m) and shot put (10.37m) on the day, while classmate Matthew Ginnetti (Pipersville, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) took fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.05m.
The Royals return to the track on Saturday, May 8 for the Landmark Conference Championships that will be hosted by Susquehanna University.
