PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- The University of Scranton women's track and field team put together an impressive performance with three top-six finishes on day one of the 2021 All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Track & Field Championships (AARTFC) hosted by St. John Fisher on Wednesday.
Junior Jessica Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) finished fourth in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best and new program record time of 17:59.23, breaking the previous record of 18:03.53 that she had set at the 2019 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships.
Senior Emily de Onis (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) placed sixth in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 11:37.04 and junior Lindsay Notarianni (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) took sixth in the 10,000 meters with a personal-best time of 39:30.96.
Following day one, Ithaca leads the team standings with 53 points and the Royals are tied for 10th alongside fellow Landmark Conference foe Elizabethtown with 11 points.
The 2021 AARTFC Championships conclude with events throughout the day on Thursday.
