BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) and sophomore Timothy Lanahan (Mendham, N.J./Mendham) both registered second place finishes to lead the way for The University of Scranton men's track and field team at the Moravian University Indoor Meet that was held on Lehigh's campus on Saturday.
Below are some of the highlights from Saturday's meet for the Royals.
- McKeon broke his own indoor program record in the 3,000 meters and finished second in the event with a time of 8:50.69, just behind Ithaca's Danny Jagoe who won the event in 8:50.53. The senior's time surpasses his previous best of 8:51.65 that he had set on Feb. 8, 2020.
- Lanahan finished second in the mile with a time of 4:34.44, marking a new personal-best.
- The Royals also won the 4,000 meter Distance Medley relay with a program record time of 10:55.70 from the quartet of Lanahan, sophomore Riley Adams (Douglassville, Pa./Berks Catholic), senior Luke Shannon (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) and McKeon.
- In the field events, sophomore Kyle Muirhead (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony's) finished fourth in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 6.24m.
Scranton will return to the track on Friday afternoon at the Little Dip Invite that will be hosted by Franklin & Marshall. Action is slated to get underway at 2 p.m.
