COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's track and field team broke a trio of program records to lead the efforts for the Royals at the Frank Colden Invitational that was hosted by Ursinus College at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center in Collegeville on Saturday.
Here are some of the highlights from Saturday's action.
- Senior Jessica Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) broke her own program record and took second in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:25.52, which is the fastest time in the Landmark Conference this season by nearly 13 seconds. Hoffmann's time broke her previous program record of 10:29.53 that had been set on Mar. 6, 2020.
- Elsewhere for the Royals, fellow senior Ally Maniscalco (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) matched her own indoor program record and tied for third in the pole vault with a mark of 2.90m, while junior Jasmine Ahmed (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) took eighth place in the Pentathlon with a program-best 2,452 points.
- Junior Ashley Benham (Portland, Conn./Portland) finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdles in 10.74 seconds and senior Lindsay Notarianni (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) took sixth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:04.14.
- The Royals' 4x400 relay team of freshman Andreina Solano (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury), seniors Megan Gorman (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph Hill Academy) and AnnMarie Onwuka (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) and sophomoreOlivia Tullman (Chester Springs, Pa./The Hill School) finished fourth in a season-best time of 4:28.70.
Scranton returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 12 at the SU Invitational that will be hosted by Susquehanna beginning at 9 a.m.
