SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Sophomore Alex Ferrador (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) notched a 12th place finish in the shot put to lead the efforts for The University of Scranton men's and women's track and field teams on Day one of the Jim Taylor Invite on Friday in Selinsgrove.
Ferrador finished 12th in the shot put with a mark of 10.59m and also added a personal-best mark of 34.60m in the hammer throw, while senior Katherine Fafian (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Academy) added a mark of 33.69m.
For the men's track and field team, sophomore Angelo Catapano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) posted a mark of 9.84m in the shot put and 36.50m in the hammer throw.
Action on day two of the Jim Taylor Invite resumes at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
