ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior Jessica Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) finished second in the 5,000 meters and set a new personal-best time by nearly 18 seconds for The University of Scranton women's track and field team on Friday on Day one of the AARTFC Regional Championships that are being hosted by Nazareth College this weekend.

Hoffmann took second place with a time of 17:38.22, surpassing her previous career-best of 17:56.00 that she had set at last weekend's Landmark Conference Championships. SUNY Geneseo's Kathleen McCarey won the event with a time of 17:24.62.

The Royals will continue action on Saturday at the AARTFC Regional Championships.
