DALLAS, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's track and field team set a new outdoor program record in the 4x100 relay to lead the way for the Royals at the Misericordia Twilight Meet that was hosted by the Cougars on Tuesday night at the Anderson Outdoor Athletic Complex in Dallas.
Here are some of the highlights from the meet for Scranton.
- Sophomores Riley Adams (Douglassville, Pa./Berks Catholic), Anthony Baez (Hartsdale, N.Y./Fordham Prep), Kyle Muirhead (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and junior Nathan Bowen (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) finished the 4x100 relay in a program record time of 44.22 seconds, just eclipsing the previous program best mark of 44.31 that had been set on Apr. 13, 2019.
- Bowen also added a third place finish in the 400 meters with a new personal-best time of 52.50 seconds.
- Sophomore Angelo Catapano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) took home sixth place in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 38.00m.
The Royals return to the track this weekend at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic with action getting underway on Friday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.
