EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Junior Liam Mead (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) and senior Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) both won an individual event to lead the efforts for The University of Scranton men's track and field team on Saturday at the All-American Meet that was hosted by East Stroudsburg University.
Below are some of the Royals' highlights from the meet.
- Mead won the 3,000 meters with a new program record time of 8:57.61, while McKeon captured the 1,500 meters in 4:03.50 to lead a trio of Royals atop the leaderboard in the event.
- Sophomore Timothy Lanahan (Mendham, N.J./Mendham) finished second behind McKeon in the 1,500 in 4:05.78 and freshman Christian Snee (Olyphant, Pa./Mid Valley) took third in 4:15.63.
- Mead's winning time surpassed the previous program record of 9:04.20 that had been set by Eric Bartlett back on April 21, 2018.
- Junior Nicholas Gershey (South Abington Township, Pa./Scranton Prep) also added a third place finish for Scranton in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:50.10.
The Royals return to the track for the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday, April 30 at Shippensburg University.
