SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Timothy Lanahan (Mendham, N.J./Mendham) registered a fifth place finish in the 1,500 meters to lead the way for The University of Scranton men's track and field team on Saturday at the Paul Kaiser Classic that was hosted by Shippensburg University.
Below are some of the standout performances from the Royals on Saturday.
- Lanahan finished fifth in the 1,500 meters with a new program-record time of 3:58.48, breaking the previous program record of 4:02.57 that had been set by senior Shane McKeon (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) earlier this season.
- Sophomore Kyle Muirhead (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony's) registered a new personal-best mark of 6.47m in the long jump en route to an eighth place finish in the event.
- Fellow sophomore Shervin Mokhtari (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) added a 10th place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a program record time of 59.88 seconds, .01 seconds ahead of his program record time from a week ago.
- Junior Ryan Maguire (Chester Springs, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) added a 10th place finish of his own in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:16.74.
The Royals return to the track next weekend for the Landmark Conference Championships that will be hosted by Juniata on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8.
