SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Junior Tim Lanahan (Mendham, N.J./Mendham) took second in the 1,500 meters to lead the efforts for The University of Scranton men's track & field team at the outdoor season opener on Saturday as the Jim Taylor Invite was hosted by Susquehanna University.
Below are some of the Royals' highlights from Saturday's meet.
- Lanahan finished second in the 1,500 with a time of 4:04.08 and was the top finisher amongst all Division III competitors in the event. The Mendham, N.J., native also finished 11th in the 800 meters in 2:00.53.
- Senior Liam Mead (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) finished fourth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 33:28.28 and sophomore Liam Fahey (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) finished seventh in the event in 34:17.41.
- Freshman Brendan Perez (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) took seventh in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:05.18 and sophomore Brendon Arcara (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) placed ninth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 18.06 seconds.
The Royals will return to the track next weekend for the Muhlenberg Invite that will get underway with field events on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
