MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Four members of The University of Scranton men's and women's track & field team competed in the Heptathlon and Decathlon on Thursday at the Messiah Multi at the Starry Athletic Complex in Mechanicsburg.
For the women's team, junior Jessica Tsu (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream North) sits in 15th place with 1,784 points, while graduate student Ally Maniscalco (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) is tied for 17th place at 1,647 points and freshman Alicia Acosta (Northvale, N.J./Northern Valley-Old Tappan) is in 20th place with 1,610 points after four events.
Tsu finished 12th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.73 seconds and Maniscalco placed 14th in the shot put with a mark of 7.89m. The former also posted a 14th place finish in the 200 meter dash with a personal-best time of 29.56 seconds.
On the men's side, sophomore Brendon Arcara (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) is in 11th place with 2,385 points after five events.
Arcara finished tied for eighth in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.61m.
Action continues on Friday afternoon at 12 p.m.
