Track & Field Programs Compete on Day One of Coach P Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's and women's track & field teams competed in the hammer throw and the shot put on Day One of the Coach P Invitational hosted by Moravian University.

Here are highlights from the Royals' performance on Day One.

  • Junior Alex Ferrador (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) finished eighth in both events as she took eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 39.32m and the shot put with a mark of 10.70m. Graduate student Katherine Fafian (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Academy) added a 17th place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 33.71m.
  • On the men's side, junior Angelo Catapano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) posted a 12th place finish in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 42.09m.

Action continues on Day Two of the Coach P Invitational on Saturday at 10 a.m.
